In May, Barry H., a Georgia resident who lives in our affiliate service area, donated a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo to Habitat for Humanity International’s Cars for Homes program that was used in a movie! Barry and his car were in the 2009 movie, Zombieland! Barry, a retired teacher who worked as an extra in the film, and his Chevy Aveo was featured prominently in a scene with actors, Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg, in a section of highway that was shut down to look post-apocalyptic.
After buying his Chevrolet Aveo new in 2004 and driving it for 20 years, he wanted to find a good use for it. Barry says he has always admired Pres. Jimmy Carter, so he chose Habitat. Thank you, Barry, for your thoughtful support of Habitat’s work and for honoring Pres. Jimmy Carter.
We accept cars, trucks, and many other types of vehicles, and we accept idle vehicles which we arrange to pick up for you.
