Army Vet Tanya Bryant Thanks Home Depot for Critical Repairs

Smyrna resident Tanya Bryant is a U.S. Army veteran who served for more than 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. Today, she wears multiple hats, serving as a trainer for a non-profit organization and is an entrepreneur of a line of lipstick.

When the upkeep of her home became too much, The Home Depot Foundation stepped in to help us make her house safe and comfortable. Through Home Depot’s Veteran Repair grant program, we were able to do an HVAC replacement and some electrical and plumbing repairs.

Ms. Bryant said, “It was my goal to work on a project every year, but the issues were arising faster than what I could keep up with … I now have a peace of mind and feel safe in my home environment.”

She continued, “Serving in the military for 21 years there have been many sacrifices. I remember being in my first home only six months before I got called off to war and all home projects were put on hold. Now after retirement and moving to a different location, I’m starting all over again.”

“It’s an awesome feeling knowing that they are corporations like Home Depot that gives back to the community. Our motto in the military is to ‘never leave a soldier behind’. Thank you, Home Depot, for reaching out to our veterans and not leaving us behind.”
