AUSTELL — Habitat for Humanity club students from Campbell, Hillgrove, Kennesaw Mountain, Pope, Sprayberry, Walton and Wheeler High Schools recently gave the Baidoo family a new, affordable place to call home.
The 9-week build, which began in February, was officially dedicated to the family of three on May 12. The house is located on Blossom Lane in Austell.
“Congratulations to these servant-leader high schoolers for giving up their Saturdays to make the dream of homeownership a reality for this family,” said David McGinnis, President & CEO, NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. “Not only does a home change their future, but the experience deeply enriches every person who hammers a nail to bring it to fruition.”
Homeowners George and Comfort Baidoo were both born in Ghana, have been married for seven years and have a baby named Blesson.
Formerly both teachers in Ghana, George now works at PepsiCo and Comfort works at Brookdale Senior Living. They enjoy cooking, reading and watching movies.
“We are grateful for this opportunity to be homeowners,” said George. “We are excited that we will live in a safe area.”
