Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Habitat for Humanity requires that volunteers be at least 16 years old to participate on an active construction site. 14 years old is the minimum age requirement for individuals participating in landscaping activities. All minors under 18 years old must have a signed parent permission form.
We offer a variety of volunteer construction opportunities depending on the build. The days available include Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and some Sundays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
No, Habitat NWMA does not allow the volunteer shifts to be separated into morning or afternoon shifts. All volunteers must be able to commit to the entirety of the 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. shift.
Lunch is typically provided during the volunteer day. We recommend individuals with allergies or special dietary restrictions to bring their own lunches.
If you are unable to attend your volunteer shift for whatever reason, please contact the volunteer services coordinator as soon as possibly at volunteers@habitatnwma.org. Failure to communicate will result in a “no-show”. Three no-shows will result in you being removed from the volunteer mailing list.
All opportunities that are password protected have been reserved by our build sponsors who are utilizing their own volunteers. If there is a need for more volunteers, a public sign-up will be created and titled “open registration.”
