Atlanta Braves Foundation Dedicates Home for Public Servant

On Friday, October 4, the Atlanta Braves Foundation dedicated the Austell home they sponsored and built to future homeowner, Quintasha and her daughter, Angel. This home is the first full house build the Foundation has sponsored with Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta and took place over 10 weeks starting in July of this year. Every week, different departments of the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Braves Foundation staff volunteered a total of 832 hours alongside Quintasha and Angel to complete the home.

Danielle Bedasse, Vice President of Community Affairs and Executive Director of the Atlanta Braves Foundation, and staff spoke about the partnership to make this build possible, presented the key, and gave a gift from the Braves foundation staff and front office to congratulate Quintasha on her new home. Venitia Smith, Director of Employee and Community Relations for Genuine Parts Company, thanked the Braves for welcoming long-time Braves partners, NAPA Auto Parts and GPC, to participate alongside them on the build as well. The Mayor of the City of Austell, Mayor Ollie Clemons, and Austell Police Chief Orrin Scott Hamilton also spoke about the partnership and Quintasha.

Quintasha works as the Executive Assistant to Police Chief Hamilton for the City of Austell. She is most proud of achieving a legacy to leave for her daughter, Angel, who just started college and wants to become a doctor. Quintasha is not only an inspirational public servant but strives to be an active member of her community and servs as a board member for Keep Cobb Beautiful.

“Thank you to the Atlanta Braves Foundation for investing your people, time, and resources to build a home and community through baseball,” said Jessica Gill, CEO, Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta. “We were proud to build with you so Quintasha can live in an affordable home in the community she serves. We look forward to our future partnership.”
