We celebrated 40 years of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter in Northwest Metro Atlanta at Blueprints for the Future last Tuesday evening at Glover Park Brewery.
We journeyed back to the ’80s and the beginning of Habitat’s work in Cobb County. We are grateful for the packed house of attendees to reflect on our history and share in our excitement for the future. Thank you to the incredible sponsors who stepped up to support this benchmark celebration.
Our emcee, Kelsey Thompson-White, Community Development Manager for the City of Marietta, guided us through a celebration of our shared mission and the people who made it possible.
As Bakari Brooks, Board Chair of Habitat NWMA, shared, while we have partnered with 691 families to date, the need remains great. That is why our vision is to reimagine communities where affordable housing thrives through partnerships with market builders, faithful sponsors, and dedicated volunteers, allowing us to serve even more families, like the 2,400 who have expressed interest since 2024.
Our “WHY” is the Habitat homeowners, past and present, whose stories brought our mission to life. Their experiences remind us “WHY” we do what we do, and “WHY” we create pathways to safe, stable, and affordable housing.
As we kick started the evening with the next 40 years of impact. The response was immense, demonstrating the power of a community that believes in our mission and is ready to help open doors for more local families. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who stepped up to invest in the future of affordable housing across Northwest Metro Atlanta.
The impact from the evening included; 50 sponsors and community partners who helped make the evening possible, 172 attendees who joined the celebration and $272,229 funds raised to advance our mission.
Every contribution, conversation, and act of generosity helps move this work forward.
As we journey together into the next 40 years, we build on the energy and enthusiasm from this exhilarating night. Thank you for celebrating this milestone with us, believing in our mission and helping open doors for local families.
