The purpose of the program is to help those affected by the economic impacts of COVID-19 to gain training and certifications in high-demand industries. Post training, participants will be connected with partner employers in need of skilled workers in those high-demand fields. Training programs include, but are not limited to, CDL, welding, Insurance Adjustment, Information Technology, and Healthcare fields.

Looking for a career in construction?

The goal of Construction Ready is to help close the workforce skills gap. The Nationwide Workforce Initiative finds that for every five people who retire from the skilled professions, there is only one apprentice to fill the job. The lack of skilled workers is also a problem in Georgia, with a shortage of more than 61,000 workers having been reported in 2019. The shortage has continued through the Covid-19 pandemic. Closing this gap by educating and training more Georgians for careers in the skilled professions is CEFGA’s primary goal.

Georgia Power's Energy Assessment & Solutions Program (EASP) – The EASP assists income-eligible customers with energy savings through education and free home-efficiency improvements.

Unemployment Services

The Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program will issue an additional $300 a week to eligible individuals, starting with the week ending January 2, 2021.

As the state allows businesses to reopen with safeguards in place, Georgians who return to work may still qualify for unemployment benefits. An individual can continue to make up to $300 per week without reducing their maximum weekly benefit amount. This will enable employees to work reduced hours and still qualify for state weekly benefits.
