NW Metro Atlanta Habitat Pours Foundation for 2016

Affiliate kicked off its 30th season in Cobb, Douglas and Paulding Counties

Smyrna, GA (February 7, 2016) – NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity kicked off its 30th anniversary with the First Pour of the 2016 construction season on Jan. 29 in Powder Springs.

“The First Pour is symbolic of the work we do in our community,” said David McGinnis, President and CEO of NW Metro Atlanta Habitat. “These are the first homes owned by the families we serve and a safe and decent home gives people a sense of pride and provides a solid foundation for successful lives.”

Crew members poured two foundations in preparation for the volunteer construction crews who will work for nine weeks before dedicating the new home to the family.

The affiliate plans to build 16 houses this year in Cobb, Paulding and Douglas counties. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, NW Metro Atlanta Habitat has built over 400 homes for deserving families since 1986.
