On January 28, forty people came to our warehouse for a crew leadership class. On this day, the instructors took the participants through the general instructions on insulation, window installation, siding installation and outside trim work.
Crew leadership classes are designed to ensure that crew leaders have the knowledge to lead volunteers in creating the houses set for the 2017 building season. Their job is to lead, not spend all day doing the work but to lead. They become familiar with the process in a classroom setting and then follow up with practice on the build site.
Our crew leadership classes are held in December and January. However, members of the Construction Committee meet monthly to discuss current projects and future plans. This meeting is open to volunteers who wish to become involved as site leaders and crew leaders.
