NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity Receives Citi Contribution

Donation Expected to Provide Furnishings and Tools for New Homes to Be Constructed in 2016

SMYRNA, GA (Dec. 16, 2015) – During a November volunteer event in which employees helped landscape two new homes, Atlanta-based Citi Retail Services presented $20,000 in Sears gift cards to NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. Loren Kranz, Citi Retail Services’ Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, surprised Habitat leadership with the donation.

Citi Giftcard Presentation 11 6 2015“This unexpected but very welcome donation from Citi Retail Services will be used in 2016 for furnishing our families’ new homes and acquiring construction tools,” said David McGinnis, President/CEO. “Citi’s support for NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity over so many years has been invaluable in helping us provide safe, affordable housing for families in metro Atlanta.”

These gift cards can be used to purchase Craftsman tools, Kenmore appliances, and other products from local Sears and Kmart locations to help build and complete Habitat homes, Kranz said.  “It is an honor to be able to provide the NW Metro Atlanta affiliate with this gift. Knowing that the homes can be outfitted with furnishings as well as ensuring Habitat staff and volunteers have the tools they need gives us a great sense of pride.”

Citi’s Atlanta-based employees have nearly a decade-long history working with Habitat for Humanity throughout the metro Atlanta area. Through financial contributions from the Citi Foundation and local charitable contributions, Citi Atlanta has helped facilitate the construction of multiple homes over the past 10 years. The November event was the second time this year Citi employees volunteered with NW Metro Atlanta Habitat.
