Hillgrove High School Spirit Night (Update)

eat-for-habitat-for-humanitythursday-october-20thUpdate: Join the Hillgrove High School Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter at Chick-fil-A on Dallas Hwy (2555 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA) this Thursday, October 20th from 5-8 pm for a Spirit Night.  All donations will be used for the chapter’s community outreach programs and our 2017 Cobb High School Coalition House Build.

The Hillgrove Chapter of HFH was started last year and has been very involved in the community thus far.  In our first year, we were able to contribute and help build a house! We also reached out to our community in other ways.  We partnered with the Cobb Department of Family and Children’s Services to totally revamp their three family meeting rooms (with donations of paint from Home Depot, rugs from Lowes, and gently used toys donated from our Transition Academy students, and a school-wide toy/book drive).  This year we hope to work with some of our elementary schools.

Chick-fil-A on Dallas Highway has partnered with our club from the beginning.  Operator Jeff Suain and Marketing Director Daryl McMillian have been very generous allowing us to sell their calendars, hold spirit nights (CFA donates a percentage of sales for the night), and car washes. During out first Spirit Night last year, Home Depot donated bird house kits and we worked with kids to build bird ‘habitats’.  Working with the community is a great way for our students to make connections and see the impact that one person can make!  One of our mottos is “one person can make a difference, are you that person?”

So, come out and join us this Thursday, October 20th from 5-8 for Hillgrove Habitat for Humanity Spirit Night. A donation of $10 is suggested, but any donation is appreciated.  All proceeds benefit our community outreach programs and our 2017 Habitat House build!
