Keys to Hope Celebration

20161103_habitat_luncheon-11Smyrna, GA (November 3, 2016) – NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity celebrated its 30th anniversary at the 2016 Keys to Hope Celebration on Nov. 3, 2016 at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria.

Jonathan Reckford, Habitat for Humanity International President, was the keynote speaker and Governor Roy Barnes served as the master of ceremonies.

“The support we have received for the past 30 years from businesses and the community has been vital to Habitat’s mission,” said David McGinnis, president and CEO. “Their dedication to our affiliate has helped us provide 469 affordable homes in Cobb, Douglas and Paulding counties.”

The luncheon recognized corporate sponsors, community coalitions, current and past board members, and the families. NW Metro Atlanta Habitat also announced the establishment of a scholarship fund named on honor of the affiliates founder, Mrs. Chrys Street.

“This longevity proves how meaningful sponsoring and building a Habitat home can be not only for the partner family, but for the sponsor’s employees or coalition members,” McGinnis said. “Volunteering engages employees and community members and fosters team building and camaraderie. It makes for rewarding experiences and lasting relationships.”
