Matthew’s Story

Veteran Has Safe Home for Teenage Son

Matthew is a joy-filled, disabled U.S. Army veteran who served our country in Germany. After his military service, with his limited fixed income, he and his teenage son could only afford non-handicap accessible apartments in unsafe neighborhoods.

Thanks to Habitat, Matthew’s handicap accessible home was dedicated and proudly adorned with the U.S. and U.S. Army flags on Veteran’s Day in 2016. Reflecting on 12 months of home ownership in a safe neighborhood with an affordable mortgage payment, Matthew says, “I am as happy as a millionaire.”

Honor Matthew and all of our Veterans today by donating $25, $50 or $100 toward our year end goal of $10,000 to sponsor one build day for another deserving veteran. Donate Today at https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/NWMetroAtlantaHabitat.
