Susan Makar is a 69-year-old widow who lives in Acworth in the same house in which she grew up. She married and moved away and moved back to the house 14 years ago. The house had never had air conditioning and needed a new furnace; but it was a racoon damaging the very old roof that prompted her to call Habitat for help.
After our very own James Maner did the assessment, he told Makar Habitat could definitely help with the replacement of the air conditioning, furnace and old ductwork, but he wasn’t sure about the roof. Cochran Heating and Air went above and beyond repairing electrical work and installing a new HVAC unit. “A lot of people were praying with me about my roof,” said Makar. Prayers were answered and the damaged roof was also able to be replaced by RetroRoofers.
“I’m so happy and so proud of it,” said Makar. “It has been a real Godsend!”
